Corn, Wheat, and Rest Stops

There are a lot of corn fields in Missouri. And a lot of wheat fields in Kansas. And I noticed something different when we got to Missouri.. the rest stops have very efficient sinks. The sinks are a combo soap/water/dryer machine. They are on the wall and all you do is hold your hands under and soap, then water comes out and after you wash for a few seconds hot air then blows out. It is very efficient and clean. Now I did not just fall off the turnip truck. I have been in a lot of rest stops in about 40 states and I never noticed a combo like this. I thought of my friend Cheryl who is building a new house. Just think of all the mess and clean up you would prevent if you put these in your bathrooms!

These are some of the cities we went through on Sat... St Louis, Kansas City, Topeka. My favorite was St Louis. I just love the arch. Adam and I went to the top of that arch about 14 years ago. It is huge and very high up. You can not have a fear of heights and go up in the arch(that is why Don and Kelly did not go). St Louis just seems like an interesting city. I would not mind living there.

I am going to try to post a picture of the arch so you can see for yourself how tall it is.

Right now we are in Beloit, Ks. It is a small town of about 4000 about 2 hours from Don's hometown of Norton, Ks. It is very pretty here and the temp is in the 70's, a nice break from the hot, humid NC summers. Kansas is not completely flat. It does have rolling hills in some parts of the state. But the sky is getting bigger!
